Construction is nearly complete on a new cigar bar in downtown Pensacola. Owner and founder David Sharruf, who opened his first cigar bar on the Las Vegas strip thirty years ago, anticipates the first phase of operations for Cigar Factory Pensacola to begin in mid-October.
The first phase contains approximately 2,300 square feet on the first floor of the building, located at 14 Palafox Place. The first floor will include indoor and outdoor seating and fire pits, and will feature a liquor service bar and hand rolled cigars. The cigar bar will also feature around 25 various types of cigars produced in his factories over the past thirty years, according to Sharruf, as well as cigars manufactured by other companies.
Following this opening, Sharruf will begin construction on the next phase, which is the building’s second floor. The upstairs space will include two balconies, and will have a smaller capacity to be utilized for private or reserved events. The second phase should be complete in about four months.
Future bartender Noal Smith describes the bar as “a nice relaxing environment” where patrons can “kick back, get a good drink, smoke a cigar and meet some cool people who have similar interests.”
Sharruf hopes to expand within Florida in the future.
