Ok, so what's going on with this site? Where is the fresh content? So, I started this site with the full intention of loading it up with awesome content right out of the gate. I was off to a decent start and then . . . life happened. This site is not my job, which is unfortunate because I would love to talk about pipes and related cool stuff all day. The reality is that I had to spend the last few months focusing all of my efforts into my job and this site suffered. Well, no more I tell you! I have figured out a way to make sure that I get fresh content on this site regularly. So, if you have visited this site and said, "so what now?" the answer is its coming.
Let me tell you a little bit about me and why I started this site in the first place. I love pipes and pipe tobacco. For me, pipe smoking is more than a hobby. It is an awesome expression of sophistication, history, nostalgia, enjoyment, relaxation, and individualism. I wanted to bring my love of pipes to everyone, especially those of you out there who are curious about pipe smoking but don't know where to start. I also wanted to make sure that I had a place for veteran pipe smokers to hang out too. So now, I am back on track and will be able to make this site a cool place for new and seasoned pipe smokers to hang out.
To that end, I am going to be posting regular content, my way. Let me explain. I think that tobacco reviews are super helpful. If I had a dollar for everytime that I spent good money on a tobacco without looking at a review and hated it, I would . . . well, you know. I started writing reviews on this site but I did it the way I thought I should, the way that other sources described and reviewed tobacco, (or pipes and accessories).
The problem with that is its not how I feel or would actually describe the tobaccos that I try. For example, years ago I purchased an English blender from a brick and mortar. It was so terrible that I had to find out if other people hated it as well. So, I went on line and found a whole bunch of review about the texture, consistency, and blending. The problem is, none of those reviews described it the way I tasted it. To me, the blend tasted like an old metal plumbing pipe with flakes of rust. That's what a really felt and experienced.
So, why did I start off reviewing tobaccos like every other reviewer out there? I have no idea. I guess I got swept up by the tide and landed on conformity island. Rest assured, I have gone full pirate. I commandeered a ship and made my escape from conformity island once and for all.
From this point on, I am going to give you real reviews, real commentary, and real content the way I see it. So help me hoist the Jolly Roger and let's set sail on the Pipers Dream!
