Cult Militia Review

September 6, 2016

Description: Cult Militia is an aromatic blend of Burley, yellow Virginia and slow-steamed black Cavendish. It is made by the Scandinavian Tobacco Group. Like many STG tobaccos Militia is coarse cut.

Strength: Mild-Medium

Flavor: Mild-Medium

Tin Note: A light nutty aroma. In the tin it resembles Captain Black regular.

Room Note: Pleasant

Tasting Notes:  This is a basic aromatic blend. The primary note is mixed nuts.  It reminds me a bit of Captain Black regular with dialed down flavor. It required a few relights and did get moist towards the bottom of the bowl.  While I did not experience any tongue bite, the tobacco burned hot and so it seems like this one could produce some bite if it is smoked too quickly. While the tobacco itself is not poor quality, it is also nothing to write home about.

Overall Opinion: This is a basic aromatic blend. In my opinion it is similar to a Captain Black regular or other "drugstore" blends. It is not bad, it is just basic and tends to get boring quickly. In other words, I would smoke it every once in a while, but I can't imagine ever craving this one.
