Lane Buttered Rum Review

August 25, 2016

Description: Lane Limited, which is part of the Scandinavian Tobacco, has produced a number of well-loved pipe tobaccos. This is Lane's Buttered Rum. It is an aromatic Burley and Virginia blend.

Strength: Very Mild

Flavor: Mild

Tin Note: Very Pleasant with hints of rum and vanilla

Room NoteVery Pleasant light rum aroma

Tasting Notes: This is a very nice all-day tobacco. It is extremely smooth with no tongue bite. It does have a buttery soft rum flavor that is really nice and is not at all overpowering. Towards the bottom of the bowl I noticed a slight increase in rum flavor. Some rum flavored tobaccos can become sickening, but not this one. This tobacco burned slowly and did not require any relighting. It burned right down to the bottom of the bowl smoothly and maintained its consistent smoothness and flavor.

Overall Opinion: I really enjoyed this blend. It might actually be one of my favorite rum flavored tobaccos. There is no strength but plenty of flavor. I am adding this to my regular rotation. I highly recommend it.
