The FDA and Holiday Pipe Tobacco Blends

August 19, 2016

There are still a few weeks of summer left and most of us are tying to pack in as many warm weather activities as possible.  I can't imagine anyone thinking about the holidays.

Well, if you are a lover of seasonal pipe tobaccos, like McClelland's Christmas Cheer, it might be time to deck the halls. Thanks to the new FDA regulations, this is going to be the last year that they will be made.

Online retailers like Pipes & Cigars.com, are starting to sell seasonal blends early so that pipe smokers can have one more opportunity to enjoy the limited run or small batch blends.

Personally, I love the small batch blends. They are fun and give me something to look forward to throughout the year. In fact, I remember picking up my first tin of McClelland's Christmas Cheer over 14 years ago at a tobacco shop in NYC. It is hard to believe that these blends are no longer going to be available.

The bottom line is that while you are sitting on the beach or having a barbecue in your back yard and soaking up the last few weeks of summer, if you want holiday blends, you need to start your holiday shopping early.
